Why do all merchants have to be under the same rules? What is the purpose for a sales tax calculator tax? I think one rationale is if the business has a physical presence, then sales taxes help support the community infrustructure to support that business (providing roads, police & fire, etc.). If a business does not have a physical presence in the state, then you do not need a sales tax (or it can be less, as you only need roads to deliver the ordered item). If Read More...
I guess if I didn't listen to the way these persecuted young white men continually refer to women I would be a little more sympathetic. I cringe when I see the way they communicate to and about girls, I also correct their behavior. Also I think you are over exaggerating the effect on the young mans life, he is not having his life ruined, there are any number of other universities he can attend. For that matter he can sue in the state courts to have it overridden. The Read More...
The 999 plan needs a little more clarification. Is that 9% sales tax calculator tax at the retail level only or is that a 9% sales tax on every transaction in the supply chain. If it's the later, then it's a bad idea. It would put low margin business out of business as retailers would all adopt the Walmart model ... buy it from overseas. It has the potential of running up the cost of everything far beyond a simple 9% sales tax at the final point of sale. It could Read More...
Perry, Bachmann, Palin, or any Republican other than Romney will handily beat Nobama That much should be obvious by this point in the tax calculator 2012 campaign. I don't understand why the WSJ keeps publishing articles making it seem as though the GOP is going through some sort of difficult soul-searching. The only problem the GOP faces currently is a surfeit of distinguished candidates, any and all of whom would be a vast improvement over Nobama, and each of whom Read More...
@Neil Bandari, Last I read in the papers, Obama can't cut or raise your taxes. Only Congress can do that. No taxes have been cut during the Obama administration, and many taxes have been increased (e.g. the tax on tobacco) and many new taxes have been enacted (e.g. those associated with ObamaCwhen are taxes due 2012). What taxes have been raised on government employees earning less than 100k? I have no idea why you waste your time spouting absolute nonsense, but Read More...
There are a bunch of positive sales tax calculator people here and God bless them. But boy, first of all, it's not easy to get into the University of Pennsylvania (it's an Ivy League school), 2nd this guy was a math major (not a cushy major). This person is the cream of our educational system. As a person with economics training I have to say this seems like a mis-allocation of human capital. Plus there are sales jobs and there are sales jobs. This one does not seem Read More...
Interesting that some attack Bolton, and not the points of the actual column. I agree we should leave the U.N. But what's interesting about what Bolton wrote and the subsequent comments on the SUBSTANCE of what he wrote, is consideration of removing a country's permanent status on the Security Council. Germany should probably have a seat, but France should lose theirs. As for the proposal to include South American or African seats, I don't see it. And given the propensity Read More...
The fact that it took a newspaper reporter to uncover this abuse is a sad commentary on government bureaucracy. The AMA and their lobbyists fight to keep all the information secret, and to make sure there are virtually no records available to the public regarding lawsuits, malpractice accusations and the amount that certain doctors bill (overbill) Medicare, just to name a few instances. From what I understand, WSJ is suing so that these records are available to see Read More...
