Some Thoughts On “Cain Jumps to Lead Among Republicans”

The 999 plan needs a little more clarification. Is that 9% sales tax calculator tax at the retail level only or is that a 9% sales tax on every transaction in the supply chain. If it’s the later, then it’s a bad idea. It would put low margin business out of business as retailers would all adopt the Walmart model … buy it from overseas. It has the potential of running up the cost of everything far beyond a simple 9% sales tax at the final point of sale. It could even effect the price of food. Think imports from Mexico and South America.
